Like all Israeli youth, Atalya is obligated to join the Israeli Defense Forces and become a soldier. Unlike most, she questions her country’s military practices in the Occupied Territories and becomes determined to challenge this rite of passage.  Despite her family’s political disagreements and personal concerns, she refuses military duty and is imprisoned for her dissent.  The documentary develops the themes of feminism, anti-militarism, solidarity, and the power of youth leadership.
