It's What We Do: A Play About the Occupation

Event Date
Time
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Based on the book Our Harsh Logic from the group Breaking the Silence, the play enacts stories from the occupation. Drawn directly from testimonies in the book, three composite soldiers who represent varying responses to the harsh occupation policies they enforce are interviewed by The Voice in the audience, who encourages them to confront what they have done. As they recount their stories, they face their roles as perpetrators of injustice against Palestinian civilians. The play twice won the Winner of Best Drama – Capital Fringe Audience Award in 2015 and 2017.

Pamela Nice, playwright and director, and Yonaton Shapira, former Israeli Air Force Captain and co-founder of Combatants for Peace, will guest Moderate the Q&A discussion.
