1:00 pm @ Manassas Presbyterian Church - 8201 Ashton Ave, Manassas, VA
Winner of the Barcelona Film Festival Special Jury Prize for Narrative Film, Yasmine Perni’s The Stones Cry Out documents the often ignored struggle of Palestinian Christians as part of the resistance to colonization of the Holy Land. Mainstream media coverage has too often erroneously framed the Palestinian struggle as one between Muslims and Jews, ignoring that Palestine was the birthplace of Christianity, that Palestinians are both Muslims and Christians, and that Palestinian Christians have played a critical role in their land’s history and the struggle to maintain its identity.
Dr. G.J. Tarazi, founding member of Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace will moderate a post-screening Q&A discussion.
Light refreshments at 12:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.
